hi, thanks, we did have a great ride! maisie wudnt leave my dads side tho the whole way round!!
i kinda miss her at the mo, cos i have been working loads so i turned her out to grass with her friends for the week to chill, and she loves it so much she never leaves the top of the field to come and say hello to me!! they stand up there with the cows and she looks so proud cos she is one of the top mares-looking after her friends!!! but i think i am going to get her in tonight-if she co-operates!!!!- and ride tomo, have to be so careful wtih the grass at this time of year...
what are other peoples turn out regimes like then??? i thought that maisie wud get well fat out 24/7 but she hasnt seemed to!
lotte and maisie *mouth full of grass* moo moo (lol) xxxxxxxxxxxxx

hehe well usually my boy is out at night and in during the day in summer, sometimes out 24/7 though. this year due to uncontrollable circumstances, it looks like we are operating winter regime in at night and out during the day ;D he doenst need too much grass though, goes straight to his waist lol ;D hannah xxx

Very nice pics... It looks like you realy enjoyed that day. (unfortunately weather has changed so much since then ) What 'turn out regimes' is concerned. Most of the horses, where mine are stabled, our out 24/7 now. But, in the beginning they were only for a few hours in the big field, the other hours they were in smaller paddocks. This to avoid laminatis problems, due to too much protien in 'fresh' grass. This has been build up gradualy now. Daisy and Dame Heather (aka Epona) though, are only out during day time (in a separate field), but they are still indoors during the night.
