I would like to share with you my opinion on judging of welsh ponies and cobs. I have shown my welsh section D with all welsh societies and I have come to the opinion that I will never be placed higher up the line simply because my horse isn’t overweight. When the judges of are welsh ponies and cobs going to realise that it is not healthy or fair on the horse to have it so overweight that they are huffing and puffing round the ring. I was at a show recently and the horses were sweating in walk. I will no longer be taking my horse to any of the welsh shows again until the judges start too see sense and put the horses welfare first. Also my vet and farrier agree with me that these horses will be better off fitter than fatter!
