My Welsh cob was gelded late (5 years) when he was backed and is a bit stubborn and lazy when it comes to working in the school. I have had everything checked - back, teeth, saddle, bowens therapist - and it seems there is no reason for this other than sheer pigheadedness. He is a lovely boy, and I make sure I incorporate plenty of poles / jumping / gallops in the forest into his work and he is slowly starting to get more forward. I just wondered if anyone else has encountered this problem as I keep being told it's a welsh cob trait!
