Hi, thank you for your kind comments. Min and I haven't done much showing together as I thought we would use this year to really get to know each other and gel. We did do one local county show and he came fifth in the in hand and sixth in the ridden- totally my fault as he was a star throughout. He has done alot of showing in the past and as soon as he entered the ring, it was like a light came on- he went from "mum, I'm bored" to "hey, I know what this is about!" and he went into full show off mode as only Welshies can but I'm pretty rusty having had 15 years out of riding so I let him down unfortunately but everyone loved him and I was so proud of him. Would love to see pics of your horses. x

Hi. go to www.photobucket.com and set up a user account. Its very quick, You can then easily upload photos from your computer, which are saved on your photobucket page. Each photo is allocated an IMG code which you copy and paste into your forum post and hey presto, when you post your comments, the image appears. its pretty straightforward.

Hi Rosiehannah. Thank you for the welcome. Its fantastic to find a forum dedicated to Welsh cobs, I don't think there is any other breed of horse with such a unique personality. Love the photo in your avatar- he/ she is gorgeous. Min is primarily a pleasure horse/ big soppy pet. Anything else is a bonus with him. He is just a joy to be around. We do loads of hacking and he loves going out in hand and loose schooling/ playing/ tomfoolery! ;D The people I bought him off used to play games with him and he loves to play a sort of tag game where I run across the field and he trots alongside and tries to shadow my every move with me. ie turning when I turn, stopping when I stop, slowing down, speeding up, reversing, etc, to keep in perfect line with my shoulder, all completely loose. He's very respectful of my space and I can trust him totally playing with him like this. Will have to get him on video, its fantastic to watch. Sorry, not meaning to brag but he's my favourite topic- I'm a complete anorak where he's concerned.

you should hear me when i start going on about my boy then...i ramble on and on ;D anorak isnt the word for it thanks ;D he likes to think hes a bit of a looker, have to put him back in his place sometimes though personaility, yep they have that. im one my first welsh cob, well my mum had one before but dont remember that much about her. was speaking to someone on my yard and they were amazed when i said i would have another one given the chance over anything else, ive had a few falls and such in the last few months but i just love the character that comes with it, mad i know see...im going off on a tangent again your boy sounds lovely though, sounds very kind hannah xxx

Ha ha. Kind he is, but he definitely still has "welshie" days where his hooves are firmly in his ears and he is determined to do things his way! He gets quite excitable in larger groups of horses and can be a bully with other horses, although never bolshy or bargy with people. He's my first welsh cob type too but I was sold on them as a friend of mine bought one a couple of years ago and I thought she was a fantastic wee mare- it was her that got me back into riding and horses. Its amazing the number of people who wouldn't go for welsh cobs, saying that they're highly strung and can be spooky and strong. Min is all of those things but I think it just adds to his character. Makes him "interesting"! (must be mad to love him for it!). Touch wood I've yet to come off him properly- the only accident we've had was a couple of weeks ago on the way home from a hack and he went into dope mode and tripped over his feet. I luckily realised what was happening and half jumped off, half came off over his neck but unfortunately he went down on his knees and grazed them, luckily it was only superficial but he's now the proud owner of a pair of Westropp knee/ brushing boots- I couldn't bear it if he really injured himself doing something like that as he does switch off occasionally when he's bored or tired. Wee soul.

yep the welshies do seem to have a bit of a reputation for being a bit do-dally couldnt be without it though, tis their nature after all lol my boy had gotten himself a tad to fit with all the extra work he had been doing in the summer and it sent him extra spooky but we are hopefully back to normal now my boy gets bargy to lead sometimes, hes very good with other horses though, he will only retaliate when hes had enough, probably why he let his friend chew half his mane and tail out hannah xxx
