???Hi I have a 9 Month old Colt that is a real sweety until you get him into the school to do some practice showing, thats where the devil comes out in him lol. I begin walking him around the school and he is fine but then he will start by turning his head and biting. I am reading a book to train and bring up colts to help me a bit but unfortunatly the things it has mentioned don't seem to be working. Just wondering if anyone had any tips for me as I will not smack because I do not want him bing head shy. And it seem s a shame because he is such a good mover. Please Help Me!!!

you should try putting a bit on him! there you can control him properly! and also you could take him into the school and take some water in a spray gun so when he bites or pulls or rears u cn squirt him. or if u dont want to do that u cn try leading him with ur elbow against his neck there ur keeping him from ur space. oh and one more thing if none of these things work ur going to have to do a bit of physical force. when he goes to bite you grap his top lip then let it go like a twitch affect. it wont hurt him a lot just give him a pinch so he wont do it again!

one thing i've found when showing mine in hand is carry a chunky cane with a metal end and when he tries to nip me i just hold the cane in the way so he gets that instead! its more prevention than cure but i've found mine no longer wants to bite the cane and has given up!
