Hi
I'm new on this site and just wondering whether anyone owns a "Kruja" bred Welsh D? I bought mine from the stud 12yrs ago, and although a couple were sold in this area, they've all but disappeared. My girl is wonderful (OK I'm biased!)
I believe the stud went bust 10yrs ago which was a real shame.

hi welcome to the forum have to say i havent heard that prefix before, not that ive heard many saying that, most people have probably never heard of my boy's prefix 'caeifor' i dont think his stud breeds any more, only hear very rarely of his prefix, and purely by luck. have you got any pics of your girly that you can put up on here? she sounds lovely, would love to see pics of her. what do you do with her? hannah xxx

Hiya, our stud bought a lovely 9yr old stallion almost a yr ago, 'Kruja Welsh Dragon', hes an amazing boy, but bloodlines not very well known, produced a lovely jet black colt this yr, who sold for £7300 in less than an hour of being in his stable at a recent sale, we were totaly amazed about this, so Dragon is going to be our main stallion for the 08 breeding season. Would love to see some pics of yours.

Thanks for the replies. Glad to hear there's another Kruja person around! The only other ones I've heard of in the last 10 years are Kruja Magic and Kruja Victor, but not seen or heard of them recently. Kruja stud was based at Blackboys in East Sussex, which is where I got my girlie from. I event her at Pre Novice level, have showjumped to Newcomers and we also occasionally hunt, plus do Riding Club. I bought her from the stud when she was 2yrs old with limited funds. The breeder was a bit short of grazing and glad to sell something quickly I think. He had 5 2yrs olds to sell, 2 hyper black colts, 2 chestnut mares and and odd coloured mare, so Rosie was a reject I think! Hence the cheap price!! She doesn't look anything like a Welsh Cob to be honest, partly because she's hard to keep the weight on, plus she's not half as hairy as she should be. I will try to add a pic... not sure if this will work:

Kekezza Welsh Cobs: What's the breeding of your stallion?
Amazing price for a colt, well done!
Someone offered me £8k for Rosie when she was 4yrs old as she showed such a penchant for jumping. Thought they were mad offering so much money as she'd hardly done anything at that point. But she's turned out to be a star for me and is a gorgeous girlie!

His sire was Cruja Flying Phantom, dam was Torymynydd Lady Jane. When he was bought at the sale, he was said to have been bred to introduce new lines to the stud and be used for breeding. Your mare is lovely, shes quite a nice example of todays welsh cob, considering shes been produced for eventing, eventers always look lighter than their breed. To be honest, Dragon doesnt look like your typical cob, hes scrubbed his feathers and mane out, and also hard to keep weight on. His offspring are amazing though!

That's one of the more 'Welsh Cob' looking pics! This one is more her normal look: Nobody recognises her as a Welshie...poor Rosie!

Ah another Kruja cob spotted - and in Kent too, that's good!! Here's a pic of Rosie 'au natrel' though she's wearing boots as it was her first meeting with the new girl!
