hi,just wondering what people think of coloured welsh part breds? i show a 2yr old colt at alot of the wpcs shows and we seemed to get frowned upon because he is coloured. what do u lot think about them? xx

as far as im aware coloureds are unacceptable colours in terms of purebreds and regstration of coloured with the WPCS is only allowed as a part bred www.wpcs.uk.com/society/index.html

he is a registered part bred welsh,but piebald he seems to get frowned upon tho because he is coloured.

It's the same overhere when I enter with my perlino pure bred section D. I think it's too 'funny'. When I say, I'd like to breed buckskin, then I get the reply that a good horse doesn't have a color and that I have to go for type... But then once you're showing those same people (judges) seem to have their own favorite color. Once there was a judge, that always put the chestnut with a lot of white first, regardless their type.

i agree its very annoying, but thats showing for you!! its really annoying because he is stunning and dont get me wrong he has won classes at wpcs shows but you can see people talking about him because he is piebald and beacuse its not allowed in pure breds its frowned upon at the welsh shows.but maybe its me being silly. lol

Min is a coloured welsh x thoroughbred and could be registered as a welsh part bred but his breeders registered him with CHAPS to get around this issue with showing. x
