im here until i fall asleep anyway but it has been rather quiet on here recently... i know what you mean, i feel down at the mo, soon be summer though and the horses can live out at night ;D thing is are we meant to be able to afford these horses?! i could spend loads on my pony, on stuff we dont actually need. and i know this is hard, but try not to buy stuff that you dont need (very easy to say i know!) and look out for discounts on stuff you use/buy regularly (ebay!). i think that my pony has a better life than me, better food, better everything lol not sure if what im saying makes sense hannah ;D

I know how you feel Lotte,I won't go it to personal details but I have to keep my ponies on a shoestring now although I don't scrimp on important things. I like Ebay for bargains but you have to be careful some stuff goes for more than shop price .My favourite place though is our local tack auctions at the horse sale,I picked up a fantastic western breastplate for 1pound 50 BARGAIN!!! but I don't need one and have no other western tack ;D also the auctions are getting expansive to now because people are buying tack and putting it on Ebay so no more bargains for me oh also wormers are so much cheaper on the net that saves me loads of money ;D

look this is how hard up I am (I'm trying to get sympathy here ) I made senna a saddlecloth and matching boots, you can't tell on the photo but the material is actually holograghic!!(if thats a real word) well ,shines like a rainbow, thats what I mean ;D oh one boot slipped, thats why it's missing but I sorted it later ;D and this is one my friend made for my mum, It sparkles in the sun light :)and I also made my mum a fluorestant one for hacking. They only cost about a fiver to make ;D

robinsons when they have a sale on is also good ;D on the companion side of things, have you thought about 'adopting' a rescue horse or pony, where they maintain ownership and you have the horse on loan? just thought of this as someone on my yard is looking into it as she lost her horse a while back, and it means you can help a horse that really needs a home . its so sad to see that some of them are so young with so much potential and they have been neglected hope you get on alright when you ride out those who say welshies are plods are wrong lol. i had a bit of disappearing head and neck when i rode out this weekend...and he was still full of it when he was lunged later maisie looks gorgeous by the way hannah ;D

saddlecloths are easy peesy,I used an old saddlecloth as a template,I used an old quilt as the filling, then cut the jazzy material slightly bigger, then sewed around the edge, trimmed it neat, then sewed some binding around the edge(you get binding from sewing shops & vry cheap )and finally for the girth strap things,I used a spare leg strap off a rug ,cut it to size and sewed it on.Thats it and it doesn't take that long, ;D hope that made sense Hope you have a good ride :)bet you'll both be fine
