ok this is a little rant because it's started to bug me.I'll give you alittle background of why first.I traced two of my old ponies ,now there is no question of how old they were as both brought as youngsters,1- 18mths, the other 4.I have found out that both have lost 3yrs of their lives, they should be 17yrs old but both owners say they are 14 this year so I was riding them as yearlings!!I think not and the first one wasn't born when we brought him .somebody else connected to one of the above brought a 5yo (2001)but decided he was more like 3 now he's rising 8(2007)so why is it ponies lose 3yrs of their lives.Just seen afew adverts were it states "passport says 1999,dentist says more like rising 5.3 years again!!!! Now I know it's not easy to age them but it seems strange that it is always 3 years. Oh sorry for that,I feel better now ;D

does seem strange...is it the same person ageing them though? perhaps just coincidentally they were all late developers tooth wise? ive heard it happen before though! you know how old they are though. ;D dont know how people can advertise a horse as being 8 on passport and 5 in teeth, surely the passport should have a correct date on it? hannah ;D

your right Rosiehannah, the books only give you a guideline as and when their teeth come through,Senna was 6mths behind the book age on most of his adult teeth and Tigs was nearly a year! It's so nice to have them from babies,I know exactly how old they are.
